Meet The Librarian

Welcome to the WFES Library Page!  I am Mrs. Fenton and have enjoyed coming to the Forrest each day this year and meeting all of the fantastic students and teachers. 

 I love working in the library for numerous reasons.  The library is a diverse area where all subjects and topics converge.  Students have opportunities to select reading materials based on their interest and to build their reading skills.  Younger students enjoy traditional story time and storytelling while older students benefit from a wide assortment of activities including STEM, gaming, and Breakout Games... both physical and digital.  It is an interactive space that encourages students to engage with the materials and each other.

A little about me.... This is my 25^th year in education.  Of those, this is my 10^th year as a Library Media Specialist. Let's just say its the best job ever.  My loves include traveling both locally and abroad and spending time with my family.  My family is so important to me.  Just sitting around playing games with them fills my heart with joy and the room with laughter.  I love to experience new places especially when it comes to the food.  My family is scattered across the country so we are on the road quite a bit.  Our family travel tradition involves only eating where the locals eat.  This has led to incredible restaurants that would have otherwise been hidden. 

I am a transient to Tuscaloosa.  Though I have lived in Alabama for a while Atlanta will always be home.  I love to Roll Tide and root on the Braves.  Good thing the A on the hat can pass for both.
